China Glaze Creative Fantasy

So you know that awkward moment when you realize that your phone captures purple much better than your actual digital camera?

Yep...  that moment.

After taking no less than 50 pics of this mesmerizing purple, I was so ready to give up.  No matter what setting I tried, my camera refused to actually take an accurate picture. The polish looked every shade of blue between royal and midnight. I was ready to give up until I grabbed my phone as a last ditch effort.

Whooda thunk it? My trusty yet ancient Droid X captured the wonderfulness that is China Glaze Creative Fantasy.

This polish is pure beauty in a bottle.  A creamy,  mouth-watering royal purple that shot straight to my favorite list.  It dries with a nice rubber finish.  Some rubber finishes tend to be unforgiving so a steady hand with even strokes is a must.  This one isn't an exception.  I am rather neurotic when it comes to topcoat so I opted for a shiny finish. This pic was taken with my digital camera. This was the closest to resembling the actual color. My poor Canon was no match for this glowy purple.

Please excuse the slightly different formats of the photographs. I am still working out the kinks and playing with different photo editors. Any suggestions for a free (or as close to free as possible) and user friendly photo editor?

China Glaze Def Defying

iCan't.

The super duper short nubbins had to go. The feeling of bald fingertips skeeved my soul so I broke down and slapped on some falsies.  I may come back and do a proper review after wearing them a little while. I am not sure how I feel about them yet. They do feel better than bald headed fingers though.

On to the play pretties! I present China Glaze Def Defying. I absolutely love this color! Bright green is one of my favorite color families so Def Defying was a must have. Actually, I ended up getting this entire collection.  The Cirque Du Soleil Worlds Away collection spoke to me for some reason. This is the first time in years I purchased a collection in its entirety. I am so glad that I did.

Def Defying w/ It's a Trap-Eze accent.

This applied great. It was just what us China Glaze lovers have come to expect from the brand. Application was easy and opacity was reached in two coats. The It's a Trap-Eze accent was in all honesty an after thought. I mucked up a nail right before I was going to take pictures so.... I really like IaTE but I can't really give it a proper review seeing as how I only wore it one finger. Either way... DD is a must have for lovers of all things bright green. I predict it will be a big hit this summer.

No Time Like the Present

After I posted the welcoming post my poor nails started catching it in the teeth. After a terrible series of breaks while doing some housework, I had the urge to do some gel tips. They turned out fairly decent but I am a terrible picker. The tips lasted less than 48 hours. So now I am left with funky, raggedy and weak super nubbins.

As I was moisturizing my cutes I thought I may as well drag you all down the road of nail recovery with me. It will be fun!

Mabey.

We'll see.

Either way... this is what I am working with.

Hello and Welcome

Hey there! My name is Lala. This is my little hunk of the interwebs. After years of being dutiful and understanding, I noticed my husband getting the hundred yard stare when I would begin to talk about nail polish, lipstick and other girly play pretties. I figured that was my cue to branch out to like minded people.

This blog will serve mainly as my (fairly stunted) creative outlet. It will give me an excuse to finally tackle my growing mountain of untrieds as well as revisit some long forgotten beauties. I will throw in the occasional eyeshadow or lipstick swatch just to jazz things up a bit. When the spirit moves me I may even do a review or two.
So again... welcome and thank you for stopping by.
